Wrong Futures Mode: The subscription attempted to open an order with an account mode not permitted.
What does this error mean?
Some exchanges allow you to choose between One-Way and Hedge mode when trading FUTURES. The first one only allows holding positions in one direction under one contract, while Hedge Mode enables holding positions in both long and short directions under the same contract. With One-Way Mode, opening positions in both directions cancel one another out, but with Hedge Mode, it's possible to simultaneously hold positions in both long and short directions.
If your subscription is trying to open a position in Hedge Mode on an account that is configured with One-way Mode, or vice versa, you will see an error message indicating "wrong futures mode".
What could be the potential reasons for this?
- Your trading account or API keys are set to the wrong mode.
How to fix this?
- Update your account or API keys to the right mode.
IMPORTANT: The error notification will disappear only after the subscription attempts to open or close an order, even if you have already resolved the error.
